Pesticides for Native Plant/Plant Materials Seed Production
Fields in Southwestern Colorado

Prepared by Robert Hammon, Entomology/Agronomy Area Extension Agent
bob.hammon@mesacounty.us

Production of native plant and other plant materials seed is dependent in part on pesticides for weed, insect and disease control. Pesticide labels vary considerably in how they list crops grown for seed. Pesticide used on grasses and forbs grown for seed must have specific “grown for seed” language in the labeling to be legal. This site provides a synopsis of US pesticide labels which have seed production labels. When finished, the site will separate pesticides by crop type: grasses, turf grasses, forbs, alfalfa/clover, and woody plants. Within each crop, they are broken down into herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and molluscicides. This page is under construction and pesticide listings for different crop categories will be added as they are developed.

Links within the tables go to pages at http://www.cdms.net. The pesticide name is linked to the page listing all US labels for that particular pesticide. The manufacturer link goes to a listing of all labeled products from the manufacturer. The Sec. 3 link goes to the full US label (in .pdf format), and the 24©) link goes to any state special local needs labels. Pesticide labels and web sites change over time. If a link no longer works, please let us know. E-mail Melissa Franklin and we will update it.

This list is not all inclusive. If you know of something that should be listed, please email Bob Hammon.
